FAQ | Gasket Material
What is Gasohol, and which gasket materials are good for Gasohol applications?
Gasohol is a blend of gasoline with an alcohol— usually 10 - 15% ethyl alcohol. In such applications most rubber gaskets are NOT recommended.
For Gasohol applications, we recommend the following:
- Phelps PTFE Styles are preferred, which are equivalent of Garlock® GYLON®
- Phelps Aramid with Nitrile Binder - nitrile-bound compressed sheet styles should be acceptable, which are equivalent of Garlock® BLUE-GARD®
