what General Operating Yemperatures for Common Rubber Materials
1. Urethane: less than 250°F (121°C) 2. Natural Rubber: less than 250°F (121°C) 3. Chloroprene (Neoprene): less than 300°F (149°C) 4. Nitrile (Buna-N): less than 300°F (149°C) 5. EPDM: less than 400°F (204°C) 6. Fluorosilicone: 400 - 500°F (204 - 260°C) 7. Fluorocarbon: 400 - 500°F (204 - 260°C) 8. Silicone: 400 - 500°F (204 - 260°C) Silicone, fluorocarbon, and fluorosilicone and EPDM are considered high temperature elastomers and are available from Phelps in sheet, rolls, and stripped form (solid silicone sheet, closed cell sponge, and open cell foam). If very low temperatures are required, silicone or fluorosilicone would be the best choice.
